Start to Finish Backyards – Landscape Construction Stories

Start to finish backyards is a bit of storytelling actually; Landscape Construction Stories. Stories told through the eyes and voice of a camera. We all know a picture tells a thousand words. At Paradise Restored, we have many backyard beauties to tell about. How the story starts, builds, and finishes in each landscape design we create.

Micah Dennis | Paradise Restored LandscapingOf course, our team is there every step of the way watching the story unfold. It can even be surprising to us to see a plain jane backyard, transform into a Work of Art. We know you will feel the same. These stories are not the nail biting type… however they are, ‘can’t wait to turn the next page’ spectacular.

Each starts the same way, ‘in the beginning’ there is a consultation . . . a meet up with the homeowner. A design plan is formulated & shared. And then  . . . . it’s time to get started.

START: DISAPPEAR-INTO-THE-BACKGROUND . . . BACKYARD

First look in this landscape all you see is a big barren backyard without destinations spots to go to.  More of a spectators yard seen from the deck but drab & boring with it’s all lawn & bark border. That big tree trunk looks like fun if I was a kid, but my guess is Mom and Dad wouldn’t want the children hanging out over the frequently traveled road on the other side of the fence line. So the Paradise crew gets started creating a new color palette of activity. Go-to spots, river rock  bordering the beds, slate pathways winding through, a fabulous family firepit with distinctive pergola, and an inviting water feature with walk over pathway.

FINISH: BACKYARD BEEHIVE OF ACTIVITY

Walk over the waterfall on the slate stepping stones heading out to the firepit. Do you like the built-in seating? Plenty of room for a friend or two! Seatwalls wear many hats as they can be table space for food & beverage, decor, and the obvious, a place to sit. Hanging out in this corner of the property is any kids’ dream. Fun with food & firelight or hanging on the cell phone surrounded by nature.

Unless they want to hang out in the hot tub. This one has a cool built-in bar . . . a great feature as not everyone wants to soak. Hop onto a bar stool and kibitz with the soakers. The privacy screen houses an outdoor shower and boulder steps lead to the patio deck.  The waterfall replaces the background car noise with the sounds of tricking water.

It is plain to see, this plain jane backyard is now filled with go-to spots of activity.  Visit the Coffee Property

START: HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT

What, what’s hiding? Potential. Yes, this big, fat roomy landscape is hiding all of it’s amazing potential. Potential as an Eat, Live, and Play space. An outdoor living masterpiece for an upcoming family to grow in. Water and fire and fun elements. Play essentials for healthy kids.  You can see each of these areas start to emerge as the Paradise crew begins construction…. in-ground spa, gazebo living room, firepit – pit,  underground tunnel, and in-ground trampoline.

FINISH: FAMILY STYLE – STAND OUT

Whoa! As you can see, this is what using your potential can do! An amazing outdoor Living Room & Kitchen. A world class firepit – pit! So cool with its boulder edges/seats. The spa patio is a a little slice of paradise. The built-in trampoline and tunnel under the landscape…. every kids fantasy. The only other questions are: WHO are you inviting? And WHERE are you headed first in this amazing backyard?…. View the entire Myer Property

START: IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME

Remember when backyards had miles of lawn and flower bed borders? Nice to look at but wasted Live & Play space. Like this backyard. Just look at how much incredible living space is being wasted. It’s not that green grass isn’t beautiful. (We all need to walk barefoot in it a little more)  But, these homeowners wanted a more functional outdoor space. So after the consultation and design part of the story, team Paradise got busy building their dreamscape – knowing many friends & family would come.

FINISH: BUILT, BEAUTIFUL & BEING USED

What more can I say? These pictures tell it better then this gabby blogger can. But, maybe a few words – Ha!  The two-sided fireplace wall is 5 star! Gazebo kitchen and living room extraordinary. I want a seat at that bar, yum! And the pizza oven is a go-to for the man of the house who has become a pizza making wizard! What about all that green space we sacrificed? As you can see, there’s plenty of green left to fill the senses. Like to see the rest? Take a look: Ruesch Living Space

START: MOD MAKE-OVER

Think it’s time to share a short-little story. One with a smaller size and shape. Not all backyards are created equal and yet they offer the same benefits; relaxing and unwinding surrounded by nature. Looking at the start of this backyard makeover, you can see it was a bit of a blank canvas waiting for some loving attention. The homeowners love, love, love modern styles and that is just what we gave them!
